چکیده
Xanthogranuloma is an uncommon tumor in the ocular adnexa. It usually presents as diffuse lid swelling with or without orbital involvement. Xanthogranulomas can be associated with systemic comorbidities. They are diagnosed by their characteristic pathological finding. They are further subclassified based on immunohistochemistry. We present two cases with lid swelling which were diagnosed to be xanthogranuloma. Our cases were special because of the unique presentation as localized monomorphic lesions.

A 7-Year History of Necrobiotic Xanthogranuloma following Asymptomatic Multiple Myeloma: A Case Report
Necrobiotic xanthogranuloma (NXG) is a rare destructive xanthomatous granuloma with chronic, indolent, and progressive course. The morbidity and mortality are the results from wound complications and associated disorders. Because of its strong association with monoclonal gammopathy and multiple myeloma, early recognition of disease is mandatory to monitor and prevent systemic involvements of he...
متن کاملThe “Rare” or “Non-LCH” Histiocytic Disorders in Childhood: A Brief Overview
Diseases of the monocyte, macrophage and dendritic cell system are referred to as histiocytoses. Based on improved understanding of their pathobiology and molecular background histiocytoses have been recently re-classified into five groups. Nevertheless, for practical reasons the histiocytoses are grouped into: Langerhans cell histiocytosis (the most common entity), hemophagocytic lymphohistioc...

Juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) is an uncommon histiocytic cutaneous lesion. It is a type of non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis(WHO Class IIb). The mean age of onset is 2 years of age. The adult form of JXG is relatively rare. The most common affectedarea is the face or the scalp and most of the lesions are less than 5 mm in diameter. This lesion tends to show a self-limited course over several m...
متن کاملCommentary on the WHO 2008 classification of neoplasms arising from histiocytic and other accessory cells
Histiocytes and dendritic cells belong to a group of immunoregulatory cells that are responsible for antigen processing and presentation to lymphocytes. Neoplasms of histiocytic and dendritic origin are very rare [1], making up less than 1% of tumours in lymph nodes. Thus, information regarding epidemiology, prognosis and treatment [2, 3] is scarce. Table 1 summatizes the neoplasms derived from...
